Julie Barnett was ready for a lower electric

SEI Metalforms expects to save about $10,000-$12,000
a year as a result of switching providers in June 2002. Thomas
Fitzsimmons, president of SEI Metalforms, describes the process
as "smooth and uneventful."
"There is nothing to be afraid of, based
on our experience," said Thomas. His company had no problems
during the changeover, and he noted that SEI Metalforms "really
didn’t even notice anything, and did not have to think
about the process."
Lana Robinson - Duncanville, Texas
Lana Robinson wanted to try an electric provider
that used cleaner fuel sources such as wind or solar power.
After she switched, she didn’t notice any increase in
her bill. "The monthly amounts are comparable to the
previous amounts," she said. "Electric choice is
needed to prevent abuse of consumers," said Lana.
Jerry Von Tunglan - Corpus Christi, Texas
Jerry Von Tunglen estimates that his church
will save $13,000 a year by switching to an electric provider
that offers him a fixed rate per kilowatt hour rather than
being charged based on a demand factor. "Our demand factor
was high due to cooling the church on Sunday mornings for
services," Jerry said. The switch made for a more economical
monthly bill in his situation. His advice for others: "They
should check with three or more providers to determine service
and rates."
Diane L. Gilliland - Spring, Texas
Diane Gillard switched to a new electric provider
because she was concerned with protecting the environment.
Saving money, she added, "was not as important as the
environment."
"Very smooth, very accommodating,"
is how she described her switch. "All paperwork was completed
in a timely manner," she added. She advises other electric
shoppers to look at availability, convenience, service, and
the product.
Delisa Dillon - Houston, Texas
When Delisa Dillon decided to shop around for
a new electric provider, she wanted a company that was friendly
to both the environment and her pocketbook. "Electric

He cited lower cost as the number one reason Big Tex Trailers

Texas
Cost issues lead Odessa’s AmeriPride Services
to switch retail electric providers. "In today’s
economy, all businesses have to control expenses," says

in August 2002, AmeriPride Services estimates a 15 percent
monthly savings.
